The area near the sea is flat and consists of agricultural land with very few houses. We can consider it a naturalistic area especially for the tall eucalyptus trees that delimit the beach forming a real grove close to it. The shore consists of pebbles and sand as well as seabed. On the whole area there are about 3 bathing establishments, a kiosk, a bar and a restaurant. Most of the beach is free and isolated. Its position makes it little used just by the residents of Calatabiano and the neighboring villages. excellent for those who love few people around themselves. This however does not exclude it from the large number of people who frequent it in the month of August. However, given its size, it will always be less crowded than the other beaches. It can be reached by taking the SP127, or via S. Marco, from the SS114 . The road leads perpendicular to the beach where you can choose to go from two sides, one less crowded, left side going down, the other more frequented, right side. The less crowded one is the beach near the mouth of the Alcantara river. The parking lots are along the road that runs along the beach. During the winter, this area is very popular for horse riding activities.
